About Henry Thompson

Since graduating from East 15 drama school, Henry has been a part of a wide variety of productions across theatre and film. Before the pandemic, Henry had roles in the likes of Anthony & Cleopatra at the Stockwell Playhouse and Tom’s Midnight Garden at the Cheltenham Playhouse. With theatres staying shut for much of 2021, Henry focused on films, and has secured lead roles award winning films like La Mia Italia (2023) and The Anarchist’s Dream (2021.

These projects drove Henry to become more enamoured with Lee Strasberg’s Method and he looked to continue his studies at the Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles, where he was awarded the Legacy Scholarship. After graduating, Henry was cast as the lead in the new play ‘Beach People - An Existential Farce in Two Acts’ for which he was nominated for the Best Actor in a Comedy award at the 36th annual Robby Awards. He also co-founded the production company Rising Tide, and successfully crowdfunded and filmed their first film ‘Blind Optimism’, which he also wrote.

Henry’s relationship with the Lee Strasberg Institute has remained strong since graduating, and he has been awarded the Creator’s Fund Grant and had a short film funded through their creative program. He has continued in the production and writing side of the industry, securing writing credits on a 2024 feature film, Wereshark, and associate producing Strasberg’s first film of 2024.

Before it became apparent that Henry was going to become a star of the ages, and a legend of the silver screen, sport was his love - and he competed in sports like athletics, rugby, rowing and lacrosse, in all levels up to National. That has now been condensed down in to boring gym work - Henry’s main hobby now is photography; he does headshots, portraits and landscapes.
